Plot: Sci-fi with a touch of horror, ala anything by Philip K. Dick, Cypher follows the story of an office drone (Jeremy Northam) and a mysterious, leather-clad cutie (Lucy Liu) as they unravel the mystery that leads to a terrifying secret.

Ghostbusters 1 and 2 Gift Set (DVD)

Scary Setting: A ghost-ridden New York City

Plot: Bill Murray and the gang bust ghosts not once, but twice in this boxed set which also includes two episodes of the kids’ cartoon.

The X-Files Mythology: Vol. 2 - Black Oil (DVD)

Scary Setting: The otherworld infiltrating our world.

Plot: Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are back to battle evil and solve life’s most cryptic riddles — in various episodes following the "Black Oil" storyline culled from the long-running TV series.

Scary Setting: West Hollywood on Halloween night.

Plot: Billing itself as the "first-ever gay slasher" flick, Hellbent follows the events as five men fight to stay one high-heeled step ahead of a killer at one of the most outrageous and populated celebrations of the year.

Roswell: The Complete Third Season (DVD)

Scary Setting: Roswell, New Mexico; aliens among us.

Plot: The final chapter mixes teenage angst and puppy love with the ultimate fight against alien invasion.

Sin City (DVD)

Scary Setting: Basin (aka "Sin") City, a noirish comic-book metropolis.

Plot: While not strictly in the genre, Sin City is still in the neighborhood with more beheadings, dismemberments and acts of cannibalism than any 10 horror movies. Dually directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller.

Scary Setting: Way up high in an airplane.

Plot: From legendary horror director Wes Craven comes a suspense thriller at 30,000 feet. Six Feet Under: The Complete Fourth Season (DVD)

Scary Setting: Los Angeles funeral home.

Plot: Less about death and quirkiness, this season focuses most firmly on the Fisher family (played flawlessly by Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Frances Conroy, Lauren Ambrose and Richard Jenkins) and their personal trials and tribulations. (Note: The fifth and final season of this HBO series will be kicking off on June 6, 2005.)
