Acclaimed actor Tim Roth is joining Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly ("Requiem for a Dream") In Salles' remake of Nakata's horror flick "Dark Water". Roth will play the mother's attorney, an odd lawyer who works out of his car.
Brazilian Walter Salles ("The Motorcycle Diaries") is directing the movie, which focuses on harried single mother and young child who encounter evil in their new apartment. The original Japanese film was directed by Hideo Nakata of "Ringu" and "Chaos" fame. Universal is working on a remake Nakata's murder thriller "Kaosu" ("Chaos"), while DreamWorks puts together the sequel to its remake of "Ringu". On the flip side, Nakata is working on his first English language movie, "True Believers", for MGM.
