Old-school gamers White Wolf, Inc. and author Nancy Collins have filed a lawsuit against Sony Pictures alleging no less than 17 counts of copyright infringement relating to Sony's production of the film "Underworld".
White Wolf & Collins maintain that Sony's film not only borrows characters, themes, and settings from two of White Wolf's popular games - "Vampire: The Masquerade" and "Werewolf: The Apocalypse" - but that the script for "Underworld" is lifted from Collin's story "Love of Monsters".
In the 12 years since its inception, White Wolf has garnered an impressive 26% share of the RPG market, with over 5 million copies of their books sold.
For those curious to see for themselves, "Underworld" will hit theaters on September 19.
