Anchor Bay does it again! Their fright packs are always pleasingly presented (this one is made to look like a sixer of beer), and well-thought out as far as which movies to include as a cohesive theme. Fans of zombie schlock will no doubt be delighted to have a half-dozen of their favorite films in one package at a very reasonable price (it’s going for under $30 on Amazon).

LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE - 1974: Two traveling companions, George and Edna, come across a small town infested with the "living dead" that are satisfying their cannibalistic hunger on anyone they encounter.

Also known as The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue, Don’t Open The Window, or Breakfast at the Manchester Morgue, this Italian-Spanish production is a cult classic in the gory, sociopolitical vein of Night of the Living Dead.

The story follows George (Raymond Lovelock), a mild-mannered antique dealer who’s on a journey to visit friends but gets sidelined when his motorbike is run over by a woman driver, Edna (Cristina Galbo). Deciding it’s a good idea to get into a car with her, he hitches a ride as far as Edna’s destination — the isolated farmhouse of her sister and brother-in-law. No sooner do they park the vehicle in the town of Windermere than a red-eyed derelict jumps out of nowhere and attacks… and you can guess the rest!

If you can overlook the datedness, low budget limitations, and bad dubbing job, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is actually a decent zombie flick that stands on its own rotting two feet with its better-known Romero and Fulchi kin — and it’s all the more intriguing for its quasi-British gothic look and feel with surrealist twists that must be seen to be appreciated.
