Monica Bellucci Going Evil In New Gilliam Film

Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions star (and all around Italian sex symbol) Monica Bellucci has signed on to play the evil queen in "The Brothers Grimm", Terry Gilliam's upcoming fantasy/horror film.

"The Brothers Grimm" is the story of two traveling con artists who perform fake exorcisms and pretend to protect people from enchanted creatures. Eventually, they encounter a real magical curse in a haunted forest. Bellucci will portray the forest's evil ruler, a woman who has found eternal life but not eternal beauty. She turns to the forest in order to procure the young virgins whose blood she needs to stay beautiful.

Terry Gilliam, besides being an ex-member of Monty Python, is well known to horror, sci-fi, and fantasy fans and the visionary behind the movies "Brazil", "12 Monkies", "Time Bandits", and "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen", among others. Besides "The Brother's Grimm", Gilliam is also working on a film adaption of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's humorous book about Armageddon, "Good Omens".

"The Brothers Grimm" also stars Matt Damon, Heath Ledger and Jonathan Pryce. The movie is currently shooting in Prague, and is expected to be released in 2004.
