Tropfest Takes On Horror
Tropfest Takes On Horror
Indie Australian short film competition chooses horror as the genre.
Twenty young actors auditioned in Bendigo yesterday, keen to be selected as part of a worldwide short film contest - The Sony Tropfest. Each year film-makers are invited to stretch their creative flair to produce a seven-minute film, based upon a particular theme. This year, "Hook" is the theme of the contest, and the chosen genre is horror.
"Tropfest is the world's biggest film festival. From the hundreds of entries received all over the world, only 17 finalist films will be chosen," Mr Stevenson said.
"About 30 actors will be selected to produce the film. Tropfest gives young people an opportunity to try a different type of acting."
