Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhies, and Leatherface may not hang out, but Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, and Gunnar Hansen will all be starring in Kinetic Filmwork's "The Last Horror Picture Show", directed by Gary Jones ("Xena" TV show, " from a script written by Jones and Gunnar.
Kinetic describes the movie as "rural version of SCREAM" or "THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT meets THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE." A young couple and their friends decide to shoot a documentary about their favorite horror movie, "The Barbecue Massacre", which was based on the "true" story of a series of grisly murders. On their trek to the murder sites, they end up meeting three men - "The Janitor" (Englund), "Redd" (Hodder), and "Babe" (Hansen). The trio seems kindly and eccentric, but are they really? Or are they psychopathic serial killers?
The movie will be shot next year for a 2004 release.
