"The Ring" Sequel In The Works
"The Ring" Sequel In The Works
New plot is tightly under wraps.
Dreamworks has chosen a director for "The Ring 2". The original was a remake of Hideo Nakata's "Ringu" directed by Gore Verbinski ("Pirates of the Caribbean"). The sequel will be directed by Israeli-born commercials director Noam Murro, whose previous work includes "Got Milk" commercials and spots for Nike and Volkswagen. Naomi Watts and David Dorfman will return in #2, which is written by "The Ring" screenwriter Ehren Kruger.
Will the sequel be a prequel like "Ringu 0" or a sequential sequel like "Ringu 2" - or will they create an entirely new follow-up? The plot is being kept a secret for now. Shooting for the "The Ring 2" begins in January, so more information should be available then.
