Saturn Awards - Winners 2008
Horror.com was all over this year's Saturn Awards like blood on Jamie Lee Curtis. On the red carpet strolled many a would-be scream queen, but it was the king we were interested in: That's right, Guillermo del Toro, whom we've loved since Cronos, was there in person to accept his George Pal Memorial Award.
Along for the fun was Hellboy 2 star, Doug Jones, who acts in The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari remix (the winner of Best DVD release, where it met with "stiffs" competition from Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon).
Best Horror Film went to Sweeney Todd: The Demon Butcher of Fleet Street, and other "best" DVD awards went to genre faves The Monster Squad, and the Mario Bava Boxed Sets (1 & 2). Dexter won for Best Cable TV series, and Best Actor went to that milk-swilling serial killer, played by Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men.
