Staci Layne Wilson reporting

Doug Hutchison — a veteran actor best-known in the horror and suspense genre for his roles on the X-Files (Victor Tooms), Lost (Horace Goodspeed), and movies like The Green Mile (he's the meanie who stepped on Mr. Jingles the mouse) and the upcoming Punisher: War Zone (he's Looney Bin Jim, Jigsaw's unbalanced brother) — is currently behind the camera as the executive producer of a new, surprising webisodic called Vampire Killers!.

The cliffhanging, action-packed story of Vampire Killers! follows an elite team of vampire hunters in a seedy city seething with dangerous, undead criminals. On set today are two of the beautiful actresses, and they're shooting a pivitol scene in which Katrina, a law enforcing mortal, is violently turned to the dark side by a Russian vamp named Charlotte.

Hutchison, who's also the creator and a co-writer (with Marco Mannone, who acts in the series, and Tim Baldini, who directs), was in fine fettle on the set of the pilot, keeping everything moving right along. Not one to stand on the sidelines, Hutchison jumped right in… and sunk his teeth right in.

Rehearsing on the set — a giant, dark and atmospheric warehouse in Los Angeles — Hutchison demonstrated the best way to bite into leggy blonde actress Ginger Pullman's neck. The attentive biter, exotic Eastern European newcomer Ania Spiering — decked out in a sexy outfit accented with black contacts and sharp fangs — added a few twists of her own, and pretty soon the cameras were rolling and Pullman's slender throat was aptly attacked. All's well that ends in welts.

Staci: What’s it like to be bitten first by Doug, then Ania? Who's the better biter?

Ginger: Oh, Staci, it was just another day at the office! Doug bites like he's biting into a hamburger. Ania bites like she's biting into a juicy watermelon.  So, it was kind of like a picnic.  I love picnics.

Staci: Why should horror fans tune in for Vampire Killers! ? I know there are lots of good reasons, but what would pique your own interest if you weren't in it?

Ginger: It's beautifully shot, an exciting story… and of course, hot chicks, hot men, fangs, blood, guns n' knives.

Staci: The "duh" question, but how did you come by this role, and what was it like when you found out you were cast?

Ginger: There are no "duh" questions, Staci! The story and characters of Vampire Killers! really haunted me.  I couldn't get the project out of my head.  So when Doug offered me the role of Katrina I was obviously thrilled, but also honored to be part of project that I knew in my heart was so special.
