Diamond is a Corpse’s Best Friend
Girls and Corpses Magazine has been picked up for distribution by Diamond Comics, the world’s largest comic book and graphic novel distributor.
"I’m so happy I could die," says Girls and Corpses Founder/Deaditor-In-Chief Robert Steven Rhine, adding, “We tried several times to entice Diamond to add us to their Previews catalogue but it wasn’t easy to convince them and we heard that Diamond had been cutting back on magazines in their catalogue. But after a boost we received from a several large retailers, who overwhelmingly supported Girls and Corpses Magazine, Diamond reconsidered and will be featuring Girls and Corpses in their July Previews.”
Girls and Corpses Magazine will now be promoted alongside horror staples Rue Morgue, Fangoria, Dark Horse, DC, Image, Marvel, TokyoPop, and others.
“We are trying to fill a void left by magazines I worshipped, like National Lampoon and MAD, but we’ve added the brush of horror and hot girls. What more could you ask for?” explains R.S Rhine who alternately goes by Corpsy and The Grin Creeper. “Horror is bigger than ever and we’re riding the bloody wave. Also, the success of dark horror comedies like “Grindhouse,” “Shawn of The Dead,” and “Slither” are feeding this hungry zombie, so is the time is ripe for a magazine like Girls and Corpses.”
“We have been a very successful webzine, with over two million visitors a month http://girlsandcorpses.com/ and now that we have gone to print, we are moving into the celebrity realm. Our Premiere Collector’s issue features Sheri Moon Zombie ("The Devil's Rejects" “Halloween”) and Rob Zombie’s corpse; along with comic art, insane celebrity and band interviews, horror movies, hysterical photos and a crypt full of comedy that will make you laugh 'til you croak.”
“Next, our Corpse Confidential issue features: Sexy "Halloween" star Danielle Harris, Corpses on Trampolines, scream queen Tiffany Shepis, Sexy Siren Sybil Danning, Corpse Blind Date, “Hostel 1 & 2” director Eli Roth, Funeral Etiquette and more insane humor, gags, spoofs, reviews and killer bands than you can shake a stiff at.”
Actress Bai Ling is on the slab for a future issue as is Sid Haig.
Artists working for Girls and Corpses Magazine include: D.W Frydendall, Jim Smith (co-Creator of Ren & Stimpy”), Brian Orlowski, Frank Forte, Eric Pigors, Kit Lively, Nenad Gucunja, Jason D’Aquino and Mitch O’Connell.
