"Teen Wolf" To Come Alive on UPN
Eighties comedy werewolf flick reborn as a darker, more horror TV series.
According to Sci-Fi Wire, cable network UPN is working on a series loosely based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox comedy "Teen Wolf". Warner Brothers purchased the rights to the movie and characters from MGM, but don't expect a light, fluffy Wolf.
The "Teen Wolf" series will revolve around a college student who discovers his lycanthropic tendencies. Though the original movie is a teen comedy light on horror, the series is described as a drama, light on comedy and heavier on the "fantasy elements and black humor". To that end, scribe Ron Milbauer ("Idle Hands") has been drafted to pen the script.
