Haha, Ultraviolet... "Are you mental?" is the one line that I can quote that sums up all the dailogue. I seriously laughed out loud when that line was spoke. Ugh is right.

But underneath this all, I did find something REMOTELY enjoyable. It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but at the same time it's not too far off.

Silence of the Lambs;
You're kidding me, right? This is a classic? A top 250 of all-time? BULLSHIT. This was probably the most horrid piece of shit I've ever seen. Anthony Hopkins' acting was SO bloody terrible I could barely stomach the film!! Glad Jodie Foster gave up on the sequel as well because JESUS! She can't deliver a line to save her sorry face from being devoured. The storyline was ridiculous, the "thrill / mystery" parts and any twists in the movie were just plain TERRIBLE and the whole thing was just BORING.

I'm joking.

I was really, really pleased with this film. I must say Anthony delivers one of the most UNNERVING performances I have seen. His cell conversations with Clarice sent shivers down my spine. Only one gripse with this movie. When

SPOOOILER

Hannibal attacks the two police men and eats them. I felt like laughing, it was just very cheesy-ish. The scene directly after with the music and a blood smeared face was quite cool, though

END SPOOOILER

I've seen the sequel, not this before, and I'm eager to rewatch it. Heard it's not as good as this though. Can't remember from what I saw way back when it was released.

"It...is...on" was the line that gave me a good laugh:p

Whoo, you scared me there for a second.

The sequel is pretty good...Id agree that it's not nearly as good as Silence, but I still enjoyed it.

Oh and if you havent seen it, Id like to be the first of a long line of members here that would like to point you toward Manhunter. Though I personally didnt like it as much as Silence, it's much better than Hannibal, and it puts Red Dragfon (which is a remake of Manhunter) absolutly to shame. See it.

I actually caught part of Manhunter on Scream, with good ol' Grisham. Got a laugh out of that. I didn't see all of it, but from what I saw, it look pretty good. Might have to hunt it down if they don't re-air it again (but still, those commercials every five minutes may make me track it down on video either way).

The MGM DVD is pretty easy to find (around here at least). It doesnt have much (anything? I cant remember) as far as features go, but it's cheap. Im glad to have it.

Night Thirst

It is amazing to me that movies this bad can get mass production deals. I am in the middle of watching one of those horror movie 4 packs (This one is called "Bad Taste Cinema Presents... SLEAZY SLASHERS") and so far, neither of the first two films on it had any sort of budget at all!!! These are seriously like movies that got made with a few friends, a camcorder, and whatever they could find around the house to use as props.

In any event, being that I like to make no budget films myself, I can appreciate them on a certain level. Night Thirst was less entertaining than the first one I watched and the story seemed really, really stupid and nonsensical. Bad script, bad acting, terrible story. There were a few nice boobies in it though...

Definitely you have to watch Manhunter but get it on vid or DVD rather than have it spoilt with commercial breaks. Failing that tape it so you can fast forward through the commercials.
