It Waits (1/2 out of 10) -- If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. That adage describes this movie perfectly and then some.
Kokkuri (5/10) -- I'm not really sure about this Asian movie. It had a couple of creepy moments, but I don't know that I fully understood what was going on. The plot moved at a snail's pace for the majority of the movie, but when it did pick up, it lost me. I'll have to watch it again (after I finish watching the billion and one other movies I want to see) to completely figure it out. |

First of all, don't let my opinion stop you from seeing this movie. I have the weirdest taste in movies and don't like to recommend or not recommend things. That being said, you shouldn't expect anything at all from this movie.
1) The lead actress was in Cabin Fever, and I liked her in that. She fit the character she played. (The prima donna with the long, dark hair. Cerina Vincent is her name.) In this movie she doesn't have much to work with. She's supposed to be a forest ranger or something, but I just couldn't see it. She spent a lot of time running around in a tank top and crying about some horrible thing that happened to her and a friend. 2) The basis of the evil thing is a Native American legend that took the "expert" in the movie five minutes to explain, and I still didn't get it. 3) Every horror movie cliche is trotted out. Beautiful girl with big breasts? Check. Someone falls down and twists an ankle? Check. Piece of clothing gets caught on something during attempted escape? Check. Slow-mo out of nowhere? Check. 4) And finally. All of the humans are out-acted by a parrot. That can't be a good sign for any movie. I'd forgotten about a couple of scenes that involved posed dead bodies. They were pretty good but unfortunately take up only four minutes or so of the whole movie. This is one of those movies where I knew exactly who was going to bite it and who was going to live. I knew how it was going to end and actually wanted more scenes with the parrot.:D I would definitely say watch at your own risk. If you do watch it, however, be sure to post what you thought of it. |

Lots of people hate this movie but it become one of my favorite slashers..... I really do need to track down a Uncut version tho. Fine example of low budget horror film making |
