i forgot - i saw most of Son of the MAsk (my kid wanted to see it)

was good for him .. he thought the baby and dog under the influence of the mask was hilarious.

i had to stop watching it after a short while though - despite the fact that alan cumming is in it ...

(what was he thinking ??)

I watched this movie called A Japanese Story. It's not something I would have watched normally, and now I know why. I cried for a full fifteen minutes after it was over....and I'm not the sentimental type.....it was one of the saddest things I've ever seen, and the soundtrack is some type of Japanese opera, which was really beautiful....I didn't expect to be so moved by a movie....not like that.

unfortunately it's so true ..
its hard to find stuff we can all watch as a family
(which is why i'm so critical when it comes to kids films)

there are some really smart ones (the shreks, the toy stories, and my personal favorite - monsters inc)

but 99% of the rest are trying (TRYING !!) so hard to be hip they constantly miss the mark.
a good film feels like it just happened that way - it doesnt strain for success.

The Matrix Reloaded....

Other than 2 fight scenes, this movie is completely boring, and quite possibly one of the slowest action movies ever made.

(the 2 scenes are the lobby scene, with the medieval weaponry, and of course, the highway scene, with like, 15 minutes of nonstop action)

6/10

Although I see where you're coming from, this has got to be my favorite action movie, and one of my favorite movies period.

Everytime I watch it, I just get lost in the style and classy fighting...everything is just so damn cool.

I give it cool points, but it gets just so.... slow and, blah, for most of the movie.

I can understand that the movie is definitely not for everyone. It is a movie that makes you think and also challenges the beliefs most were raised on. Anyways, I loved and would recommend ti to everyone. I am not a high school kid. I am 36, so it is not an age thing. Just my opinion.
I hear ya, opinion duly noted. It's just that they hammer the god damn message home; do I need to hear the explanation for everything three times? The "scene" in Ian McKellan's house goes on for about 30 minutes... and all he's doing is talking about the legends and myths and backstories and my GOD something happen.
