Its a classic. What's more, find out for yourself. It is available for download from a number of legal sites, as it is in the public domain. The Internet Archive has a copy for download - go to Moving Pictures/Feature Films, and look under "D" for Das Kabinett Des Doktor Caligari.

Thanks The_Return and ManchestrMorgue. I picked it up on a double feature dvd with the hunchback (both on a silent classics dvd). I look forward to watching it this weekend.
