![]() The Monster (2016) I.M.D.B. A mother and daughter must confront a terrifying monster when they break down on a deserted road. So...much...crying. By the end of it I was rooting for the monster. This movie was pretty dumb. I was bored and frustrated halfway through, but I persevered, much to my detriment. 5/10

Over Your Dead Body
This was a second viewing for me, and I really took a lot more away from the movie this time. It's a Takashi Miike film, so as expected there are many layers to peel back and peek under. I don't think this movie hits the usual levels of intensity found in Miike's work, but the story line and the entire "movie within a play within a movie" concept are compelling. And NO, that's not a spoiler. It's how the tale is told, so if you haven't seen it yet, I didn't just ruin it for you. |

Sweet. I've been thinking about watching it, but, you know me and remakes!

Worth a watch, hammy. Not a bad "remake", found it entertaining at least. But I think instead of remaking that Western classic, it'd be better if they could have done it with a different set up...like going with the same "old" Seven Samurai or Magnificent 7 story idea but set around in this troubling modern time; let's say seven mercenary guys from different parts of the world/background or interest group blend or hired together & declare their war against an extremist group like Taliban or ISIS to save some helpless bunch of cornered people in a distant village/remote town where no Govt. likes to go & interfere or gives a damn...! Anyway, while watching it I don't know why but I was just wondering is there any "The Most Dangerous Game" adaptation with a Western treatment/set up?!
