Trail of the Pink Panther

*Very Minor Spoilers. Nothing that you wouldn't read on the back of the box though*

After hearing the story behind this film, I was truly expecting an awful movie. Though it is by no means amazing and is easily the worst of the Sellers Panther movies, it wasn't all that bad. The opening, filled with archive footage of Sellers, was classic Pink Panther comedy, and had me rolling in my seat. The burning office was definitely a highlight. Once Clouseau's plane disappeared, however...so did most of the humour of this movie. The interviews were flat and boring, the plot was completely dropped, and nothing seemed to have a point. The clips from older Pink Panther films were usually hilarious, but nothing a Panther fan such as myself hasn't seen before. The only redeeming part of this section of the film was the scene with Clouseau's father. Though not nearly as funny as most anything in the other movies, Nana the dog was pretty amusing. Overall, stick with the other Sellers movies, you wont regret it. If you do watch it, be sure to stick around during the credits for a hilarious assortment of clips from through the series.

6.5/10

It's a compilation- a good film to view when you can't decide which Panther film to watch, and you want to watch them all.

It makes me sad to watch, though. I loved Peter.

*Spoilers*

Anthony Hickox's father, Douglas Hickox, directed one of my all-time favourite horror films, Theatre of Blood. When I saw the Hickox name appear in the opening credits, I thought maybe, just maybe, greatness could run in the family. Put simply: It doesn't. The two Hellraiser films up to this point were both very well done, different horror films. This, on the other hand, was likely made simply to cash in on Pinhead's icon status, and turn him in to another Freddy Krueger. Though it did start out pretty good, the more it told us the worse it got. The killing blow was when Capt. Spencer called Joey over to "his world". Made an already cheesy movie even worse, flashback and all. Shortly after that, they decide to break their own rules by killing a ton of innocent people. Make sense to you? Me neither. The new Cenobites were awful, especially the CD dude. They were definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel for that one. The film's two redeeming qualities were the incredible gore effects, and Doug Bradley. No matter how pointless and cheesy his character gets, this guy always puts on a good performance. As far as this series goes, stick with the first two.

First of all please do not bitch about this one. They've receently made the eighth one.Something about a computer. And second that is all they do is use Pinheads name to sell shit. The eighth one just had his name attachedto sell it. The screenplay had already been writen for awhile before Pinhead got into it.

Also the last movie for me was Night Watch. Excellent. Reminded me of Underworld.
