I live 5 minutes from the Atlantic, and can't see it from the road unless I drive about 40 miles north. Miles of high rise condos.

A lovely peaceful neighbourhood with kids running around playing untill dusk. The apartments are great as well. Expensive, but great.

And this is your neck.

Yes, it's a little like Florida. Just a lot colder. :p
Gorgeous. How close to the coast are you?

Do you have little Angras running around in this peaceful little neighborhood of yours? Or are you a swinging bachelor?

I'm a 20 minutes walk from the beach. So i take the bike. And by bike i mean bicycle.

And no, there's just me, myself and I running around. And most of the time we're just sitting right here. On the couch.

Yup. Living the dream, baby. ;)

Beach front is prime real estate here. Kind of laughable when you consider South Florida is called Hurricane Alley. Technically speaking, the first 150 feet of shoreline on all US property belongs to the Department of Wildlife and Forest. Which, in a lot of states, is still wild. But in prime destination states like California, Florida, New York, etc. that law gets chucked out the window. Some of the keys(islands) here, you can't even go on without going thru all sorts of security clearances, and you have to have a written, verifiable invite.

But one beach got thru with a state park designation, Haulover Beach. A nude beach right in between all that expensive real estate. This might sound like some kind of perk for rich old pervs. Until you go there .......and see some of the scariest nude bodies on earth. :D

No thank you.

There must be another public beach somewhere in Florida...

Well, thanks to our dependence on foreign oil, OPEC now has us working 18 hour days, 7 days a week, to keep our tanks filled, pay our mortgages and bills and buy our $25 a pound hamburger.

"There must be another public beach somewhere in Florida..."

They're all public beaches, but the resorts and condos try to make outsiders think they aren't.
