The Fatal Hour
Let me start by saying that I love these good ol' mystery flicks from the 40's. They're usually nice a short, filled with decent acting and predictable plotlines. While this did only run a mere 68 minutes, and the actors were as good as usual, I must say I was rather surprised at the outcome. Great twist in what I had pegged as a predictable film. The characters were all great, though I can't quite buy Karloff as a Chinaman. Grant Withers was great as the typical hard-boiled cop, though I must say this particular cop was more flustered than most, providing some fun comic relief. The trademark female reporter was pretty good here as well, played by the beautiful Marjorie Reynolds. If you're a fan of this kind of movie, I highly recomend it. Better than most! 8/10

The Indestructable Man
I've been on a kick for these cheesy old detective/horror flicks for the last coupe days, and this was a pretty good one. Aside from Price and Lugosi, Id have to say Lon Cheney Jr. has to be my personal favourite old time horror star. He isn't exactly in top form here, though he does do a fairly decent job considering he only gets to say about 3 lines. For a film made in the mid 60's, I was surprised at how violent it was...not that I'm complaining or anything, but the scene at the roadblock was very violent for the time. The narrator, yet another hard-boiled LA detective, was a pretty good character for most of the film, though he became a bit of a jerk in the final scene. The ending was somewhat predictable, but Cheney Jr. pulled it off very well. The film did drag in some places however, and I didn't particularly care for the love interest. Overall, it was a good enough way to kill an hour and 10 minutes. 7/10

Hey guys, been a while.... busy with a lot of stuff and getting a new computer and finally kicking the dial-up habit. :D Don't know why I didn't go with Comcast a long time ago. Comparing that to my old 32K modem computer is like a 2006 Z06 racing a half dead Yugo. :p
Recent movies I have watched.... "Dead Alive" and "I Spit On Your Grave" both the unrated versions. And I found em in the most unusual place. Circuit City of all places. I didn't even realize "Spit" was unrated until I opened the package. Man, talk about a really rough film.

V For Vendetta
I was quite surprised by this film actually. I was really expecting a mindless actioner, and it was anything but. It's certainly unexpected to see a film that casts a terrorist (because that's what V was, when you get right down to it) in a sympathetic light. Not a bad film at all. Overall: 7/10

Breeders...There must be two different movies with this name, because I watched a movie called 'Breeders' a long time ago, and it wasn't NEARLY as terrible as the one we watched last night... The Brood
