Considering the budget, it was a finely made character driven thriller with decent amount of gore & tensions. It's got little echoes of Stephen King's The Mist, Roth's Cabin Fever or even the little known, beautiful indie-gem Right at Your Door!

Somewhat like The Descent, it starts out with a tragic car accident. And then some time later, the bunch of lady friends make their way to a very remote cabin to have a visit, a few drinks and to celebrate. In The Descent, it was to celebrate that Sarah finally got over her tragedy, enough to go on a fun adventurous tour.
In Chemical Peel, one of their own is about to be wed; Rae hosts her sister Angela's bachelorette party, and along with a few friends, they go about getting drunk and having a boring old time until Angela inevitably brings up the car accident their younger sister died in, blaming Rae for it since she was driving.
In the morning, the ladies wake up to find a mysterious fog outside, along with a couple of dead birds. The TV reports that a train crash has caused some unknown chemicals leaked in the area and everyone is urged to stay inside. but being indoors eventually turns just as deadly as being outside.

But yeah, surely it wasn't a perfect or great film; it has it flaws. Mainly they dragged it as far as they could with a few annoying characters & their stupid decisions or activities but still I found it enjoyable & worth a watch as it was technically well shot film and the cast delivered a good job. The make-up and gore works were nicely handled. When chemical spill slowly seeps into the taped-up cabin and the sickness takes over and other poor choices are made, Chemical Peel let the blood flow all over.

Batman v Superman: Ultimate Cut
I.M.D.B.

I enjoyed this. Could have been better but I enjoyed it a lot. One of the better comic book movies out there. I'm a fan of Zack Snyder's work, and if you are too, chances are you'll enjoy this.

Ok. Thanks for that. I'll add it to my list.

You're Next 7/10

Shite acting, and 'humour' wasn't to my taste, but decent twist made it an interesting take on the sub-genre.

Cryptic (2014)

A mysterious coffin located in a crypt where 8 gangsters, dealers and crooks from a same crime syndicate are brought together to 'guard' it.

A pretty well written & executed Tarantino style "who-dunnit" comedy-thriller; even at one point some of the characters were trying to recall the name of a movie that resembles some sort of same scenario that they are in...one of them was only sure that there was "Dogs" in the title!

Fallen (1998)

A pretty good & intense thriller that treated somewhat the same scenario of Lou Diamond Phillips' THE FIRST POWER (1990) but more seriously & obviously in a better way. But thought that Cat in the finale was quite a hilarious touch to the story...I was just thinking if Hobbes (Denzel Washington's character) knew that there was a cat in the cabin (though he just saw once when he first visited there) what would he do? Every time I visualize Denzel was running after that cat...it just cracks me up!!

Wonder why I haven't seen it before!?!

BUBBA HO-TEP (2003). Really good and funny flick with excellent turns by Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis. ****

The Purge: Election Year

I really enjoyed the second movie so I had high hopes, but unfortunately this one was a disappointment. Although entertaining, like the first one it was a wasted opportunity of such a fantastic concept.

Cryptic sounds pretty good.

Funny about the cat. But kind of bogus. If not a cat... could go bird.

Regular ghost story against an original background.
The setting, a decent cast and Del Toro's director's skills made this is a better than average ghost movie. And actually one of the few I like.
