Amalthea, my day goes out to you. Was at a friend's house most of the day, we were planning to have a Disney movie marathon...turns out we only watched 4 movies, and turns out 2 of 'em werent even Disney, and we didn't finish the 4th...but oh well! Great animated flicks that I hadn't seen in years!

The Sword in the Stone

According to my dear ol' dad, this is the very first movie I ever watched, and what a great introduction to the world of film it was! I enjoyed this as much today as ever, in fact I even recall laughing out loud fairly often...mostly at Archimedes the Owl, he was a hoot! [Pun intended]. Even after all these years, I could still sing along to many of the songs:D

8.5/10

Anastasia

Though I did see this film at a relatively young age, I only watched it once and hardly remembered any of it. I quite enjoyed it this time around, with the exception of a few of the songs. Most of the song were pretty catchy though, I still have that "Paris Holds the Key To Your Heart" one stuck in my head! The plot was interesting and exciting, despite criminally straying from the source material. Last but not least, Rasputin made a great villain, hats off to Christopher Lloyd for yet another great performance!

8/10

Rock-A-Doodle

In all honesty, I never saw this as a child. Perhaps that accounts somewhat for why I didn't enjoy it very much. Unlike the other films which had plots that people of all ages could apreciate, this was contrived and full of holes that you could "drive a John Deere tractor through". The song were lackluster and all sounded the same, and the kid that played Edmond brings a whole new level to bad child actors. I did have a few good laughs though, mostly due to the good ol' Patou, so I can't rate it too low.

7/10

Afterwards we watched some of Beauty and the Beast...shall post a proper review once we finish it tomorrow.

Last Man on Earth

Great film, a true classic and you can really see the inspirations it provided to other directors and writers. Vinvent Price is amazing.

I forgot all about that movie, I used to love it when I was younger. I'm gonna have to look for it.

Watched Walk The Line again.

one of my favorite films ...

a bit dated now as the style has been copied since several times .. but this was the 1st. Richard E Grant was never better.

Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America

For those who don't know, this is a collection of short films by Douglas Buck, and includes the infamous "Cutting Moments." Which is, by the way, quite possibly the most disturbing film I've ever seen. I've seen plenty of sick movies, but I think this is the first time I've ever actually turned my face away and wanted the movie to stop. The violence is not particularly graphic, but it's presented in such an offhand, casual way that it's really hard to take. I don't think I can rate this film right now, I'm still trying to digest it.
