i've never heard anyone refer to horror as bad.
But I will say that horror can = inapropriate.

It would be crazy to deny that there arent a lot of films in the genre that could be damaging to the wrong minds at the wrong time.

I sure dont want any kid of mine seeing Last House on the Left, Hellraiser, or any slasher films for that matter until he is able to understand exactly what is going on.

Vamp seems to have a grasp on reality .. as far as we can tell from a forum.

It might simply be a case of his dad not understanding what really goes on once a kid sits in front of a computer on the net.
There are still a lot of people who have no use for the PC and focus on the negative stories about the mysterious internet that they hear on the news.
Some parents will find it easier parenting to ban, instead of getting involved and understanding the truth.

or, for all we know he could simply be being punished for doing something stupid.
We wont know for sure until he comes back and tells us.

I was referring to the people that judge all things horror or horror related as immediately bad, those that blame horror for certain maniacs and their lack of self control.
I wasn't saying they called it bad specifically, but yeah...I agree that a person should be over a certain age before witnessing some of the more hardcore/innapropriote contex horror films....not necessarily the "reccomended" age, but yknow, there's a point as to HOW young a person should be - and even then individual maturity should be taken into account.
I agree with your assessment on vamps grasp or reality, I think he's more than mature enough to kick it with us.

Muhahahahahaha

Once again, the Penguin has risin from the ashes. Simple way outta my dad finding out: I have Windows XP, so I just made another account on the computer. The internet history is separate, and when my dad wants to check my history, I can just hide the account. Easy as kittens.

But ya, this site, and any other horror forums, are just prying on my dad's paranoia. He hates horror movies, he hates the internet. So that makes Horror.com prime enemy #1, I guess.

Thanks for missing me though:D

That would just make him suspicious, he say something like:

"So you've been on your computer all week, but you havnt visited any websites, only today? Ya right, no internet for you".

I hear worse from my family than I see on on this forum actually.

I mean, take the whole md thing out, and I don't think you can seriously say this forum is inappropriate in any way. If you can, you're just in denial about what your kids are exposed to/experience in real life everyday.

See, I agree with you...that was my point initially. But I didn't know we were referring to a 13-14 year old. Which in that case...I think there is a lot of inappropriate content on here.

And like you said...I have a neice who is 14, and she is always hanging out with the adults in my family when we have get togethers. Now, my family is a bunch of loose-mouthed Italians...shit flies around her and I yell at them to tone it down. And they say..."Awww, she's heard worse than that from her friends." Which is probably true, but I don't think that should allow us to just drop the f-bomb every other sentence in front of her, etc.

Not every kid is exposed to the horror's of the down and out life out there. And just because you hear worse in your family doesn't make it right to expose others to it, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

I find it a little funny that you guys seem to think this a really bad place for 13-14 kids who hear and do worse everyday than they read on this site.

Cursing is very rare in my family btw.

To think that you can protect your kid from the world is just... Overprotecting your kid probably does more harm than underprotecting her/him.
