Actually, it's not really one of my favourites of the bunch I've shown here at all...but it DOES look at least decent by comparison to the shit they put in the cinemas nowdays.

Have you seen the original Assault? I think the remake will suck because the actors in it are too well known so it won't have the average joe type aspect that made Carpenter's movies so good.

It was an OK movie not really my type of thing. You should check out something like Smash Palace or Once Were Warriors for this style of movie.

I been listening to that scribe guy, he aint bad either, but there's this dude he performs with that I think is way better...not that I'm really into it...Shihad was fuckin' cool though

Smash Palace came out in about 1981 or so. There's a few NZ horror movies most notably (Bad Tase, Braindead, The Truth About Demons and The Locals - but avoid The Locals it's really shit). Horror's something that the film industry over here has never really tapped into but hopefully that'll change.

i HAVE SEEN THE TRUTH ABOUT DEMONS at the videoshop, didn't know it was an NZ film though...I might hire it out.

The Truth About Demons is pretty cool from what I remember the ending was kinda lame tho I think but it has some good moments.
But yeh I lot of people seem to hate it especially over here but being a horror fan you might like it.

Here's a fairly decent looking futuristic animated film, from the makers of "Ghost In a Shell"...there's an 80's animated film by the same name,
I'm not quite sure if the two are related in any way. All the same it looks quite cool, VERY nice animation indeed:
