The Ghosts of Edendale

Found this one in a baragain bin, and decided I might as well give it a shot. Well, I certainly wasnt disapointed! Though it did hae the overall feel of ultra low budget, the actors werent bad and all things considered, the effects were pretty good. Interesting storyline, added in some Hollywood history. Methinks Ill have to watch this one a couple more times to try and figure out the ending though. Overall, if you see this in a bargain bin, I say pick it up! Might take awhile to get your head around, but definatly better than alot of recent low budget crap.

8/10

Cheerleeder Camp - Kind of slow with not enough real kills, the beartrap kill and the garden shears were both pretty good.

Society - A long wait to get to the real good stuff but the ending is... out there. Yuzna really built up to the final scene and it doesn't dissapoint but the movie itself moves rather slow. This isn't Re-Animator but I liked the social commentery.

Watched a few more over the weekend...

Cable guy - 6.5/10 - I love this film, Jim Carrey is funny, loud and quite menacing throughout this film. A great popcorn movie!

Corpse Bride - 9/10 - I really enjoyed this - I'm a massive fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas and this is almost as good. The songs are not quite as catchy, the characters are not perhaps as memorable but hey it's still a creepy kick ass movie. top marks Mr Burton!

August Underground - 6.5/10 Well...where do I start? Firstly if Scrapbook and I guess to a lesser extent Henry: Portrait of A Serial Killer are your cup of tea then this will fit snugly into your collection. I purchased the double disc (signed by the cast) Snuff Edition and well I being a fan of such films found it dirty, disgusting and down right offensive - great stuff. However, I have to say that although they basically have tried to make another 'Henry' it does not live up to the classic that is Henry. contains good documentaries albeit slightly long winded and various galleries - Still good though - if you like that kinda thing.

Mothman prophecies - I have seen this a few times but I do still enjoy it - particularly like the documentary about the Mothman on the extra features. 8/10

Underworld - 7/10 - good action/vamp flick - another popcorn movie really...

Dark Water (Remake) - 3/10 - I didn't mind the Japanese Original version but didn't find it too scary, one or two menacing scenes but I was outraged to find that the remake not only didn't contain any menacing scenes whatsoever but they actually changed the end to completely disregard my fave scene from the original which for me made the film! Where was the climatic elevator scene?? I would strongly advise on avoiding this Remake at all costs...the worst of the remakes as far as I am concerned to date. I have seen scarier films on Nickelodeon.
