Princess Mononoke.
It's been around for a while in Japan...I saw the english version, with the voices of Gillian Anderson, Billy Bob Thornton, Jada Pinkett Smith, Minnie Driver, Claire Danes, and a WHOLE lot more people that usually voice videogames/cartoons...
This film was fucking cool. I enjoyed it WAY more than "spirited away" which was the last film by the same people...I don't REALLY agree with the hype calling it the Star Wars for today, but there WERE certain similar elements.
Good, solid characters none of them "pointless" as are many in such animated films.
Awesome soundtrack, really spectacular background and geographical art, and a storyline that's strange, but very easy to follow. Some great action sequences, crazy-ass giant animals/gods/demons running around.
Overall, one of the best animated films I've seen in ages.

i really love the studio Ghibli films but i think Spirited Away is still my favorite (even over the lovely but more simplistic Totoro)
The animation in Spirited Away is so rich ... and the images - for me - have more impact .... like the train sequence ...

As in totoro i really like that - mystery train/transportation - in the middle of the night when the real world is sleeping.

Princess M. is still a bit to violent for me to watch with my kid so I have only seen it once.

HAve you seen Castle in the Sky, or any of the others ?

"School for Scoundrels" - Classic British comedy with a cast to die for....

Ian Carmichael, Dennis Price, Terry Thomas, Peter Jones, John Le Mesurier, Hattie Jacques, Irene Handl and the wonder that was Alastair Simm.

"The woodsman"

A dark and gloomy movie about a pedophile who`s trying to live a normal life after spending 12 years in prison for molesting children. But his inner demons and past wonīt let go of him easily.....

Terrefic performance by Kevin Bacon. He deserves an Oscar nomination for this role.

Thanks STE!;)

Disneyīs The Little Mermaid:Based upon Hans Christian Andersenīs classic story, it deserves another theater re-run under Andersenīs anniversary this year.
The Norwegian singer Sissel Kjirkeby stars in the Danish dub as Arielīs singing voice, and Ursula is one of the best Disney villains ever.

Just watched Shaun of the Dead for the first time and I thought it was really funny and had great dramatic scenes as well.
