Welcome to the team.

Results of Battle Royale II - Challenge #5

Team Grindhouse, Nightmares and Assassins...

Welcome to your Fifth BATTLE ROYALE II results meeting.

Before we start, I would like to clear up two points of confusion -

#1) Madeline Smith is 34DD, but she is NOT a superstar of the genre.

#2) Always do a cross-check with the Challenge BEFORE sending in your entry. In the event of any sort of editing (IF it happens, it would be within the first 30-odd minutes), you will be safe. Merely forwarding a teammate's PM to me without tallying it with the Challenge may result in drastic consequences, and you alone will be responsible for it.

Here are your correct answers :-
  • He reportedly went into a real-life battle wearing a red bra and panties under his uniform.
    Ed Wood Jr.
  • He was mentioned in the Warren Zevon song “Werewolves of London.”
Lon Chaney Sr. & Lon Chaney Jr. (both accepted)
  • His obit in the NY Times featured a picture of another actor in full makeup as the famous character he portrayed.
    Boris Karloff
  • He claimed to have hidden in a mass grave of corpses to escape death during his stint as Captain in the Hungarian Army.
    Bela Lugosi
  • He remarked “A man who limits his interests limits his life.”
    Vincent Price
  • He is credited for playing the first ever James Bond villain in a 1954 TV show.
    Peter Lorre
  • The biggest hit of his career featured his voice as the harbor master.
    Tod Browning
  • He auditioned for the part of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, and after failing to get it, suggested to his friend, Mark Hamill, to try out.
    Robert Englund
  • He had a morbid phobia of police.
    Sir Alfred Hitchcock
  • He reportedly scored his first role by passing himself off falsely as the nephew of Samuel Goldwyn.
    William Castle
  • She and her husband are active in the Church of Scientology.
    Karen Black
  • She passed the written test to become a police officer with the LAPD, but chose a career in acting instead.
    Linnea Quigley
  • She is the founder of a Foundation which advocates the rescue and adoption of animals.
    Linda Blair
  • A good movie should include – action, revolution, killing, oratory, fantasy and fornication, according to him.
    Samuel Z Arkoff
  • She is the only 34DD superstar in the genre.
    Adrienne Barbeau
  • Her ex-husband and her only child have Poe in their names.
    Barbara Steele
  • The Pentagon named a stealth computer system inspired by her.
    Cassandra Peterson (aka) Elvira
  • He turned down the chances to direct Return of the Jedi, Top Gun, Robocop & Total Recall.
    David Cronenberg
  • After receiving a thunderous ovation from the audience at the Famous Monsters of Filmland Convention, he famously said “Have you ever felt unloved?”
    Peter Cushing
  • His most famous literary work surprisingly didn’t earn him even a single cent.
    Edgar Allan Poe

Let's see how you all fared, in the Scoreboard...
