OK, I like to debate, so here goes:

I used the word, we'll call it the "f" word. I guess I'm noe HDC's resident Michael Richards, it wasnt very funny, so there you go. However, i was presenting it as if some porcupines said it. So, the porcupines may or may not be homophobic, or just jerks.


For the record, i am not homophobic, but i am a HUGE jerk, so I will grant you that ;)

I am not going to use that "I had freinds who were gay" excuse, I'm just not; you'll draw whatever conclusions you want. This does raise a question, though. Do you consider anyone who creates any kind of material with characters (me with my porcupines, Parker and Stone with Eric Cartmen, the writer and director of American History X) who happen to be biggots must be biggots themselves?

How very Freudian. I'm sure for some peopel it is cathartic, speaking through characters who say things they never "could". There are cases (perhaps his screen name starts with a "V") who have characters who say things they never would.

You can arbitrarily hate whomever you like, you may however want to find out who it is you hate instead of standing back saying "look at that guy over there, he must be a goth, I hate goths".

I couldn't care less whether you were homophobic or a flaming drag queen I was just pointing out that the word faggot has become a general term to belittle and criticize.

Aksing if I believe that people that create movies, literature etc. about biggoted issues must be bigots themselves is laughable only because it has absolutely no bearing on you (as a porcupine) calling someone an eco-faggot. It is simply a tangent.

You are trying to create and take too much meaning from these internet discussions. I simply presented another side to the discussion rather than adding yet another post of "die, stupid hippies"

I can assure you though, i am no porcupine. And it did have bearing. Because I am not a porcupine.


According to my wife, I'm a pig :). And i was trying to say that I do feel the "f" word is a general insult, that started off somehow being an insult to homosexual males, but has eveolved into something that just sounds mean to whoever you aim it at. And it makes homophobes get all defensive.

We can keep this up (although I have no animosity toward you) because it is fun. And healthy, I think. Its been a while since there was a debate likethis around here. Som epeople try it with politics, which usually die after a page or two, or the real kicker was the abortion arguments that reared up around the 04 election. Those were some humdingers, and resulted in some members leaving and never coming back.

Forum debates are always a little odd to me. It's like debating with the drive thru speaker box. Also, I'm not even sure what's being debated anymore. Seeing some psycho's crying over a tree (what appears to have been a natural death, they're not in some clear cut area) turning into wishing hippies death by fire. Misguided hate is the issue at hand.

Then it became the use of the word faggot as a catch all derogatory comment which is right up there with people calling anything they don't like gay. If you had said eco-nigger I would assume there would be more people bothered by it. I took the opposition for my own amusement, now we need to find a new topic to argue lol (don't take this as submission, I can play devil's advocate all day if you like.)

You said you were saying it as if a porcupine was saying it, which is why I said "as a porcupine" I don't believe you're a small, spiny animal with a fondness for masturbation.

Also, your observation of the eco-"n word" issue was dead on. there is a difference between wanting to stir some controversey and putting your head on a chopping block. I dont think it should be as big a deal as it is, but I'm white and Male, so I dont think any of that kind of thing is all that big a deal.
