Hence why I asked.
The credits are wrong, the mask looks photoshopped and the title font is just an edited version of the one they used for the animated "First Flight" last year. I don't have time at the moment, but I bet 5 minutes worth of Googling could turn up an identical pic of Reynolds. Maybe it's just wishful thinking because it's such a terrible poster, but I'm calling fake.

The adventures of a superhero named "Green Lantern" date back to the publication of All-American Comics #16, published in July 1940, making the character nearly as old as the first superhero, Superman. The original Green Lantern was named Alan Scott and his powers derived from a magic ring and lantern that gave him incredible abilities. When the appeal of the character — and the superhero genre in general — waned in the late '40s, his comic book was canceled. However, the name would live again in the '50s with the creation of Green Lantern Hal Jordan, who also wielded a power ring and lantern, but whose abilities derived from science.
Though they may have different alter-egos, costumes, origins, and weaknesses, what unites the two disparate Green Lanterns is their power ring. The ring bestows many abilities to the user, including flight, telepathy, power blasts, and others, but the trademark ability of the ring has always been the creation of "solid-light" or "solid-energy" constructs limited only by the imagination and will power of the ring wielder. In many older comic books, Green Lantern typically created simple constructs with the ring, such as a giant pair of scissors or a giant boxing glove, but as comic book readers have become more sophisticated, so have Green Lantern's constructs. In a typical modern issue of Green Lantern, Hal Jordan may use his ring to create anything from a Tyrannosaurus Rex to an F-22 Raptor fighter jet. Since the announcement that Warner Bros. was developing a live-action Green Lantern, fans of the character have been speculating about whether this ability will be featured in the movie. Any doubt that director Martin Campbell might opt to feature Green Lantern's more pedestrian powers can now be laid to rest. While doing press for his latest movie, Edge of Darkness, Campbell revealed to MTV that this ability will be actualized in the movie. Campbell even gained some comic-nerd cred by correcting the interviewer's inaccurate use of the word "object" to describe the creations. Quote:

Tomorrow marks the first official day of filming for director Martin Campell’s long-awaited 3D Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan and Mark Strong as Sinestro.
The film has been in pre-production in New Orleans for several weeks and the first scene will be filmed tomorrow and through the 17th on location at the Old Point Bar, according to OnLocationVacations. DC’s CCO Geoff Johns recently visited the set and praised both actors, saying “Ryan IS Hal, and Mark Strong is going to be a brilliant Sinestro.” It’s hard not to be excited for the movie with such awesome casting, including Peter Sarsgaard as Jordan’s rival Hector Hammond, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire, and Tim Robbins as Senator Hammond. Ryan Reynolds will also play Deadpool in the upcoming X-Men spinoff of the same name, and Mark Strong most recently starred as Lord Blackwood opposite Robert Downey Jr. in Sherlock Holmes. Green Lantern is slated for release on June 17th, 2011. Martin Campbell reached out to New Zealand for two new casting choices – Temuera Morrison and Taika Waititi. Waititi – who wrote, directed and acted in Eagle Vs Shark – is playing the best mate of Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), the test pilot who ends up inheriting the super-powered ring worn by members of the Green Lantern Corps. Morrison, still probably best known as Jango Fett from the Star Wars prequels, has an even more instrumental role – he’s Abin Sur, the Lantern who crashes on Earth and who passes that same ring to Jordan so that he might protect the planet. It’s still not known whether Lantern will be shot in 3D or undergo the conversion process ala Clash Of The Titans. In case you aren’t familiar with Green Lantern, there’s a ton of backstory to the character. The first thing to know is that Green Lanterns are like intergalactic police, and they get their abilities from power rings that have to be charged every 24 hours. The first Green Lantern was Alan Scott, an engineer who created the first of the magic rings. Hal Jordan is the second Green Lantern. Jordan was a second-generation test pilot who was given the ring by Abin Sur, an alien who chose him because of his strength and honesty. Hal Jordan was a founder of the Justice League of America and was one of two Green Lanterns that patrolled the area surrounding Earth.

Scott is from a different "age/reality" and his magic based ring while bearing the same name and a similar power set, is really nothing to do with the "current" set of Green Lantern/s, and their while galactic police bit. Incidentally though, both Scott & Jordan now occupy the same "universe" - Though I doubt very much they'll give too much mention to Scott.

Martin Campbell has increased the cast complement of Green Lantern by one, adding Angela Bassett.
She’s signed on to play Dr Amanda Blake Waller, who has a chequered history in the DC Universe, having run shady organisations like the Suicide Squad, which had super villains working for the government in exchange for amnesty. Though she’s also a government agent, chances are she’ll end up causing trouble for Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Green Lantern is shooting right now in New Orleans with Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Tim Robbins and Blake Lively.

Everyone is curious to see what Ryan Reynolds will look like in costume in the big screen adaptation of DC Comics’ Green Lantern. Production started earlier this month in New Orleans, and while the first set photos have begun to hit the web — don’t expect to see Reynolds in the green suit.
Not today, not next week, not next month, not ever. So don’t expect to see any leaked shots of Reynolds in the actual suit until Warner Bros makes the official full reveal. Why not? Well, because there isn’t a suit. No suit? That’s right. No suit. The suit that Ryan wears on set is a grey tracking motion/performance capture suit with led lights. The Green Lantern suit you will see in the final film will be almost entirely created using computers. That’s right — Green Lantern’s suit will be mostly CG! Warner Bros assures that the suit will look cool. Don’t let the words “Computer generated” scare you. Ngila Dickson, the costumer designer on the film has won an Academy Award for a little film called The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. She worked on the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Last Samurai (another film which earned her an Oscar nomination), The Illusionist, Blood Diamond and The International. Ngila was tasked with trying to find a way to do something that stands apart from all of the other superheroes spandex suit designs we’ve seen in the past. Remember, the Green Lantern suit is something that should look alien — it needs to seem other worldly. It encompasses any creature that wears the ring, and Hal Jordan is the first human to ever wear the suit. This was a chance for Dickson to do something different. You also have to consider that Hal changes into the suit multiple times in mid scene, and the cg also allows him to do this. Apparently, the suit will look like, “a manifestation of [Reynolds' character, Hal Jordan's] power.” The CG also means we won’t get our first official look at the suit until Warner Bros. gives the go-ahead to release a fully-rendered image. So there you have it. The film world’s first almost fully CGI superhero suit. Peter Sarsgaard, who plays the villain of the film Hector Hammond, has wild hair, “like Jason Lee in My Name is Earl” combined with the character’s pencil-thin moustache from the comics. Green Lantern is set to hit theaters June 17, 2011.

If you’re the kind of fan who, without question, needs to catch the very first full “Green Lantern” trailer, you may want to befriend a few muggles.
Fresh from New York Comic Con and currently echoing within the comic and movie blogosphere is the news that the hotly anticipated “Green Lantern” trailer will be attached to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1,” the second-to-last film in the Harry Potter series set to debut on November 19, 2010. “Green Lantern” scribe and DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns made the announcement at the DC Entertainment Panel, perhaps to acknowledge (as early as possible) the hope of many an attending fan that Warner Bros. might release a teaser trailer at some point during the con. Alas, like Thanksgiving, the sight of Ryan Reynolds’ sweet smooth green jammies will have us waiting until November. Here's the film's official synopsis, courtesy of the new "Green Lantern" website: Quote:
