Wink saw

hey I liked Donnie Darko! that bunny suit was way cool, i wish i could have died before bad things happened to people i care about because of me (i.e. the engine crashing into donnie bed)... *hopes a jet engine crushes me in my sleep* no, really i heard saw was a good movie, but i presume it is a psychological thriller more than a horror movie. the guy with the axe, gun, or knife doesnn't scare me. i'm just scared that i have been that guy (because i have)

Just saw it (pun intended) and I have to agree with you H_I, it definitely wasn't scary but it was a clever story line. It was slow in some instances but had some good scenes as well. I thought it was a hell of alot more entertaining than Grudge......well that's just my 2 cents worth......:)

Pretty good flick. Of course, it doesn't live up to its advertising...but, what movie does? I mean, they bill it as being the next Se7en or Silence of the Lambs. But, I personally didn't think it was quite disturbing enough to be ranked with those films. Maybe SOTL, but certainly not Se7en.

The first and second acts are great. Different, freaky, weird, creepy, all that good stuff. The third act, however, kinda of falls apart a little bit. I remember sitting in the seat thinking to myself, "Oh no...don't go this way. I really liked you up to now, please don't screw it up with a crappy ending." Luckily, it takes an unexpected turn and rolls into a pretty cool ending. So, that made it all worthwhile.

My only other gripe was Elwes' performance. It's a little weak. He's decent, but there are some parts I found myself rolling my eyes at the acting (or lack there of). He just wasn't a good choice as the leading man. As a supporting role, he's more than adequate. But, he can't carry a movie himself. They should've looked a little harder.

Other than those points, it's a pretty good film and worth a watch. Hell, I'll probably buy the DVD just to see all the "crap" they cut out to get the R rating.

First, ha, seems like every other person on these forums is an asshole. People need to calm the fuck down and just casually talk and have a good time.

Now onto my opinion on Saw:

I wouldn't call the movie "scary" as far as jolts are concerned but I think the word unsettling suits it well. Everything made sense, everything was explained but at the same time not too much was told to ruin the movie. The entire theatre was quiet and enraptured in the movie and only a few giggles were heard towards the end. Excellant considering our audience. They'll laugh at anything to show off in front of their friends.

I will say the killer's character in the movie is fantastic. His "murders" have more creative obligation like qualities rather than artistic and sadistic self gratifying qualities like most killers that make you almost develop a respect for his "work". They were ingenously created and well crafted to get his point across without actually killing anyone himself.

Too tired to go on anymore but I gave this movie an A rating. It's a movie to borrow $8 and call-in to work tonight for.

I saw Saw Saturday evening, and I was quite disappointed. A few of the kill scenes are cool and disturbing, but the acting sucked all around, and the entire plot hinges on the motivation of a particular character (Zep), who makes some choices that nobody would make given his options. In that regards, the plot is quite flimsy ... and what's up with the jigsaw puzzle piece? That looked to have been added at the last second just to give the killer a name ... because they certainly didn't do anything else with it. Still, the film is mildly entertaining, and may stick with you if you don't think about it too much when it's over.

I was wondering that myself. I thought we were gonna see a "flesh puzzle" later on in the film or something. But, no. It was just a useless subplot piece to "freak" us out more.
