I'm currently watching the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre right now. It's making me hungry for steak.

Return of the Living Dead

This movie is highly underrated. Great, cheesy gore! Great, cheesy acting & script! Cool ending! Not to mention just tons of inventive, original and creative stuff that you won't in any other zombie films.

A-

War of the Worlds

Ugh! This movie could have been cool if everything didn't go Tom Cruise's way for no other reason than him simply being Tom Cruise. There were some real cool parts of this movie but by the standards Spielberg has set for himself, I'd say it's sub-par by a longshot. The actor that played Tom Cruise's son had to be one of the most annoying little fucks I've seen in a movie this year.

Steel Dawn

I love me some good 80's post-apocalyptic action movies and if they star Patrick Swayze with a beard, all the better. By no means, is this a great movie, it's not even good. Instead it's one of those films that is so corny that you can't help but pretty much laugh the whole time. I like the dark futuristic movies in general plus the cheesieness makes this one tolerable.

I just saw The Begotten. That has to be the most memorable film, if it can even be called that, I have ever seen. It is a lot like watching the video tape from the ring, but 1,000,000 times more bizarre and disturbing. If you have netflix, rent it. I don't think I can ever watch it again, but once is enough.

Boo 1/5
Started out asking, "where are the Japanese?" followed by, "did I get the wrong movie?". It turns out that my warped memory remembers a sample clip of Home Sweet Home which is a Japanese horror film, and somehow associated it with the title, Boo.

That aside, what started as a promising modern haunted asylum horror film ended in an almost unwatchable finale.

Domino 3/5
Did Tony Scott come to the editing room with the latest editing effects software package? The movie certainly looks that way. I wonder how it would have turned out, had Ridley been there to reign him back just a bit. I was afraid this was going to be another Kill Bill type pulp action film, but it ended better than I thought.

Masters of Horror: Homecoming 4/5
While not exactly feature film length, this can hold its own as well as any. An impressive piece from Joe Dante, which just mixes up my ranking list yet again...

Tobe Hooper - Dance of the Dead
Joe Dante - Homecoming
Don Coscarelli - Incident On & Off a Mountain Road
Stuart Gordon - Dreams in the Witch-House
Mick Garris - Chocolate
Dario Argento - Jenifer

How about yours?

"Shawn of the dead" 7/10

Pretty funny, but should have had a lot more than just a couple of references to other zombie movies.

"Bad taste" 6/10

Would have been funnier with REAL actors in it, i think..
