I still haven't checked that one out. Not a big fan of Clive Owen I couldn't stand him in Sin City. But I've heard good things so I'll give it a spin.

I've watched a lot of 70s cult/trash/whatever you wanna call 'em flicks over the last couple of years and I'm easily pleased with cool characters, violence, car chases etc despite minimal plot. Like I said there relaxing, great fun and a lot more escapist.

There's just something more relaxing watching a movie that doesn't take itself to seriously.

Probably why I'm one of the few people that fuckin' loved Hell Ride.
to be completely honest, it probably one of my favorite action movies from the 80's. its a cheese sandwich with great one liners, and completely over the top, just my kind of thing. i love it.

hmmm..If you didn't like Clive in Sin City....you may not like him in Shoot-Em-Up. Personally I loved him in both.

also.....I like Hell Ride as well.....so you are not alone my friend;)

so is hellride like a mindless action flick, is that why people dislike it?
honestly, thats just what i want, there just aren't enough these days. modern day action movies are either PG-13 Fast and Furious/XXX type, or just take them selfs too seriously.

i havent seen hell ride - but let me say this ..

you can have dumb fun mindless action - done cleverly ..

there's a difference between stupid unimaginative cliches and ones done with some thought to them. i thought Crank was well done mindless action - so was Shoot 'em Up.

its a genre thats been done to death - frankly i got sick of it - so to see some new life breathed into it is refreshing to me ...

we've come too far and thanks to home video - we've become somewhat more sophisticated due to prolongued exposure...

the action film has to be smarter these days.

case in point : The Marine.

acceptable 20 years ago - now it's just a fucking stupid waste of time and an insult to the basest intelligence.

I'm afraid Hell Ride would most likely fall into the "stupid unimaginative cliches" category. A real throwback to the "biker" movies...but more blood and boobs.

that's probably why I liked it:D
