CSI

This show has been through a lot of changes over the years but I think it's still one of the best shows on the air. And Ted Danson, whom I have never been very fond of, is great as the new lead.

His character in "Bored To Death" is actually pretty amusing too, I've never been a great fan of his either.

Tonight, I will be watching the first episode of this:

I really hope it lives up to it's potential, it looks just...excellent...

I caught on to CSI late, I need to go back and start at the beginning but it is a good show. I like CSI Miami more just because at times it feels like the Wild West with Horatio Caine as the law man. But back to the original CSI, Ted Danson's character was borderline incompetent an episode or so ago. It was the case with the guy collecting women's hair before killing them. All of them should have been in protective custody.

I'm watching Lost Girl on Syfy. It's not really scary but it has monsters. The last episode had a scary spider.

The reason you like CSI: Miami is exactly why I don't care for it. The original CSI was showing the science of criminal investigations. It was populated by nerds & misfits, and it showed how police work is a team effort between a lot of different departments. The innovative graphics illustrated scientific principles in a visually interesting manner.

The two other CSIs are just regular cop shows with a modicum of science thrown in to justify the name. At the head is a macho gun tottin' cop who always gets his man. Yawn.

I watched the debut episode of "Awake" last night.

For those that aren't aware of the show, it's about a person living his life across two parallel realities after a traumatic accident.
There's numerous reasons/theories throughout the course of the show as to why the protagonist is experiencing this - and it's quite thought provoking.
It also has elements of the run-of-the-mill crime drama, though makes it interesting with each reality slightly bleeding into the other.

Well acted on all parts, a few familiar faces from Lost, The Practice, that 70's show, the 4400 and the main character himself is of Harry Potter films among other things.
It's got characters that I find myself giving a shit about, and a compelling storyline in which I find myself torn between which reality I want to believe is the "real" one.

It's actually a bit of a tear jerker...deals with pretty devastating loss, and what seems to be a gradual descent into either madness or despair for the main character, ha, didn't think I'd feel for a character as such.

But yeah overall I'm finding it to be a pretty solid concept, and while not treading entirely unfamiliar ground, is doing what it's doing quite well.
Great musical score too.

I'd recommend having a look at the first episode.
Trailer again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfPVoiQKFvk
Plenty of torrents up of the first ep.
Honestly, check it out.

It's funny how different the two shows CSI shows are. I've never watched the NY version except for that tie in episode with Dr. Langston. I think Raylan Givens from Justified summed up Miami perfectly when he said something like it's lots of sun with shady people.
