Good, you shouldn't. Opinions are subjective and one opinion doesn't make another invalid. I do believe Michael Myers was being a little playful and didn't think we were being disrespectful, but it's never a bad idea to remember that not everyone likes the same stuff. Not a damn thing wrong with that, and if it wasn't that way, this forum would be a complete drag.

Furious 7 (2015)
Not bad. Couple of cool scenes but too much sterile action (lots of explosions, lots of bullets, broken glass, no blood or just a tiny bit). The bad guy was played by Jason Statham. I think he owned the movie. Kurt Russell also has a role and he was great as always. |

Yuck. And on top of that lots and lots of car chases. Sounds like a movie that for sure would bore me to tears.

But after that it went downhill again. But another sequel's already confirmed. It's like the Transformers movies. Explosions and/or lots of CGI sells. |

Ouija -
The trailer sold me on this one a while ago. Also it has the actress from Bates Motel. I thought she was pretty good in that. Also, one of the actresses from The Secret Circle. The male actors are bland though. No standouts. This movie might not be the best but it's not the worst either. It has a few good scares that got me. Also, I wasn't ahead of this one and it surprised me. The setup at times reminded me of Nightmare on Elm Street. With a darker tone and a bit more thought, the movie could be better. Maybe even close to a movie like the remake of The Ring with more effort. I think maybe the people behind the scenes might have wanted it not too dark. In the credits I saw that Hasbro worked on this movie. Yes Hasbro the toy company owns the rights to the Ouija board game name. Something I didn't know as I thought these were just generic boards. Anyway, it's not that bad. The only thing kind of jarring was how fast the parents left the kids alone. This sort of thing usually happens in horror movies. But after the events in this movie, you would think they would stay around. All of the adults are like that. It breaks the realism when stupid stuff like that happens. Still far from the worst movie out there. Quote:
I remember once I saw a movie and it had a clip from The Shining. I told a girl let's see that. And she said "that's a horror movie." As in no go. I'm sure if I told many people that I met that I liked Friday the 13th movies they would have thought I was crazy. And probably asked why do I like movies where people are just getting killed? I think that many girls go to some movies just to tag along with their date. Most girls don't really like a comic or Star Wars type movie. Many guys don't but they go to see stuff blow up, because it's marketed to them, or they think they need to see it because everyone else is. Quote:
I thought I reviewed Oculus. I guess I didn't. I remember thinking it was a good story of why you don't mess with ghost objects. It's almost like a Friday the 13th TV episode without the characters showing up to recover the object. And I liked the object's back story. So much that I want to find the original short film. Karen Gillan was very good in it too. But I thought there was going to be more from the movie from the trailer. Also more of Katee Sackhoff. I think that was disappointing to me. |

The Gallows
I liked it, but I didn't care for the ending. I don't understand why they don't let the audience use their imagination sometimes.

Okay could you make any sense of what the ending was supposed to imply? I can't figure it out because of how stupid it was. I still liked the movie though.

Horror movies in general are not for everybody. If you were to label a group to them that would be best suited watching them, it wouldn't be 'woman' or 'man', it would be something like... 'bold', 'thrill seekers', 'creative types who need an outlet'. Quote:
Point being; it's a new century. Stereotypes don't apply anymore, so let's let them get old. What you think may be true for one group is most likely JUST as true for another, therefore how is it fair to associate the one but not the other? The movies you watched you watched because they interested you, where as I'm just as happy to watch something else like Wolfcop. So maybe those two movies that started this all are actually not 'for women' but for 'ImmortalSlasher'. It'd be nice to see the childish trend of 'everyone else is doing it so I should to' get cut down in its tracks. Do what you want to do. Let people do what they want to do without fear of being judged for it. (This probably seems long, unnecessarily rant filled, and off topic, but I implore you to consider how you use stereotypes. As in not using them. Movies are for everybody.)
