Maybe. Those movies are classic id hate to see them ruined because of new age thinking. I didnt like the Halloween remake because it was nothing like the first one. It should of been just Halloween 9 Michael Myers Revenge or something like that.

*sighs* Good grief.....in the first THREE films that Jason was in (as adult, killer Jason) he DID run. So the running is not a new thing. Everyone that doesn't remember this, and only remembers ZOMBIE Jason....watch this....;)

I hope they don't screw this up...I've loved this franchise since I was a kid (was even named after the guy) and I really hope they don't just throw the classic style out the window. If anything kills this movie, it will be some Hollywood dickhead thinking that he can "do it better" while throwing the classic feel out the window. I know 13th part 9 sucked on purpose to get it away from Paramount, who didn't care about the franchise anymore...but after "Freddy Vs. Jason" I think the point stands that people still love these films. I mis Kane Hodder playing Jason, but maybe the new guy taking up the role will use Kane as an example of "the right way". We'll see I guess.

Fav. Friday the 13th movie: Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives...It was the first one I got to see on the silver screen and being in a theater where the crowd cheered Jason on while he did his thing was awesome...It was a great theater experience, thus I'll always have a soft spot for the film...

:D

Don't worry about it, that's why I am so free with my smiley usage....its easy to take things the wrong way online. :)
Anyway, I am not much of a Friday the 13th fan (I find the first one pretty uninteresting except for the death scenes, and the others are entertaining, but not exactly sacred to me), so I think I have a better chance of enjoying this remake than a lot of others. But I find the sheer number of remakes we're getting lately, just ridiculous. There are some good ones, obviously, but I've given up on the filmmakers actually being respectful of the original films. I go in with low expectations.
But the Black Christmas remake just pissed me off...lol.

I agree totally i mean Friday the 13th was never sacred to me or anything either so i wont like pound my fist with fury and sheer pissed offness when i see it and it sucks (if it does) but halloween pissed me off and black christmas was a disaster when did it ever mension in the original that billys mom liked having sex with him? It was stupid same with the when a stranger calls remake.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the Halloween remake that I had with the Black Christmas one.....too much backstory, I think Black Christmas was the worst offender I thought just because it was so freakin' ridiculous. Both of the original films were scary because of what you DIDN'T know or understand. Both remakes kind of stomped all over that idea. Subtlety kind of flew out the window there.

But we'll see, maybe they didn't make the same mistakes here. I mean, other than the obvious mistake of making it in the first place. haha. It could be fun.
