TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: Season One: CBS/Paramount

This 30-minute horror/fantasy anthology series follows in the vein of The Twilight Zone. Each week presents another standalone story of horror fantasy, and/or science fiction. Some episodes are gruesome, a few are of a lighter comedic style. Like many such shows, Tales... adapted the work of famous genre authors of the period such as Harlan Ellison, Stephen King, and Clive Barker. Many episodes also featured veteran actors of the 40's and 50's that saw very little work in their later years.


TERMINAL INVASION: Image

Inside an isolated airport, seven anxious passengers learn that their charter flight has been grounded by a blizzard. Despite their pleas, the pilot, Cathy, tells them that she cannot depart until the storm abates. The unhappy passengers are soon stunned into silence by the arrival of Jack Edwards, a convicted murderer escorted by two guards whose transport van has skidded off the highway. Cathy tries in vain to make the agitated passengers feel at ease with phone lines down and radios only transmitting static. But these soon prove to be the least of the passengers' problems, as they realize that some members of the group are not who, or what, they seem...

Have you seen them all already? Does this dvds available at your nearby dvd stores? If so, then Man...just for that reason only, I'd like to visit India again this year!:)

Oh, wow. I had heard they were making a movie but I wasn't sure. I really enjoyed the show, despite its shortcomings having been prematurely canceled. It was quirky, endearing, and sure, a little cheesy. I'm not sure how it'll be without all of the original cast members though (especially Mandy Patinkin, who is hilarious in the show).

Hm, I'll have to check it out.

Cool to see Blue Underground jumping into the Blue-Ray deal. They are hands down the best DVD company for genre flicks.

When his small hamlet of Birzirkenstadt is ravaged by a deadly plague, the young and rebellious Doctor Janick reveals a radical cure. But his revolutionary theories about life and death label him a heretic and he is rewarded with banishment. As Janick disappears into the wild with his secret love, Esmeralda succumbs to the deadly disease and the superstitious doctors are helpless to cure her. Enter a mysterious masked figure known only as the Creator who snatches Esmeralda’s body from its grave and begins to conduct weird experiments…their objective: to bring her back from death’s cold embrace.

Blood, crime, drugs and moonshine prove a lethal combination in this wicked back-roads nightmare called STASH. Bud’s a heavy-set, bearded, Marijuana grower from the hills of Eastern Kentucky. While Bud has a growing operation, this is not his only secret. Down in his damp, dark, blood-soaked basement is a darker and more sinister one. When two local crooks hear that Bud’s leaving town for a few days, they hatch a plan to relieve him of 20 pounds of homegrown. But before they make out with the stash, Bud catches them red-handed and forces them into a bloody game or life or death. A game where drugs, kidnapping, torture and rape are only the beginning.

Criterion has announced its latest classic for high-def, setting a mid-June Blu-ray bow for the Ingmar Bergman masterpiece 'The Seventh Seal.'

Regarded as one of the master's finest works, and featuring one of Max Von Sydow's greatest performances, 'The Seventh Seal' will receive its Blu-ray premiere on June 16, day-and-date with a new standard DVD re-issue.



In the classic film, a man seeks answers about life, death, and the existence of God as he plays chess against the Grim Reaper during the Black Plague.

Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with remastered 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (1.37:1) and a restored Swedish PCM 1.0 Mono soundtrack.

Extras include a 2003 introduction by Bergman, audio commentary by Bergman expert Peter Cowie (with new afterword), the "Bergman Island" 83-minute documentary, a Woody Allen tribute to Bergman, filmography, collectible booklet, and the theatrical trailer.

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.95.
