Is it actually a brilliant movie or is it just a nostalgia piece? I can't figure it out:confused:

Aahhhh, there's the difference. I was an adult when it was on TV. That was the first thing that I hated about it, the fact that they made it a TV movie. Second thing I hated was that they made so many changes from the book, including changing a character's name!

IMDB tends to agree with your sentiments. Perhaps they should re-remake it and do it justice. I'd have Adrien Brody as Mr Barlow!
