Foreign films have always been consistently remade since forever.

The stories used to me more reworked (i.e Fistful Of Dollars) but since Three Men & A Baby there has been more of a trend of just porting the story/characters.

People don't like subtitles and studios like making money so they cash in on it.

I could care less tbh. Chances are I've seen the foreign flick first so I don't bother with the remake like recently with Quarantine but still I don't write things off automatically because how fucking good was the Americanised version of The Grudge? I loved it anyways... perhaps more that the original.
