Rhys Coiro is awesome in the show Entourage and Marth MacIssac was good in Super Bad but they were both comedies so I wonder how this will be.

If you've ever seen "Chaos" you have seen what is essentially a remake of Last House... and a VERY bad one at that. Let's hope the official remake is better.

Smile

I'm going to have to rewatch the old one. It's been forever, but I remember that I was unhappy about it. I was like thirteen though and couldn't even sit still for a second.

I also remember that the movie was dated. I guess that made it scarier then. I would like to see a remake.

Sara Paxton will play young Mari Collingwood in Rogue Pictures' The Last House on the Left.

Sources tell she is the latest addition to Dennis Iliadis's remake. Paxton joins the previously announced Garret Dillahunt, Rhys Coiro, Martha MacIsaac and Riki Lindhome.

Sandra Cassel starred as Mari in Wes Craven's original 1972 shocker.

Paxton's career began at the age of eight. Since then she has appeared in Aquamarine (she was the mermaid) and Sydney White. Audiences will next see her in Craig Mazin's Superhero Movie this March.

"Last House," modernized by writer Adam Alleca, begins rolling in South Africa soon.

Sean Cunningham, Wes Craven and Marianne Maddalena are producing.

What is it with Craven.

20 years ago he was the king of low budget horror but what happens when he gets a bit of money in his pocket. He produced dross after dross after dross.

Lets be honest here,What has Craven done thats worth any merit in the last 15 years. And for those who say `Scream` lets just say that i will chose to ignore any further comments.:D

Last House is,was and always will be a hallmark in horror and should be left alone.

Save for some of his original work (Such as Last House) I think Wes is a terrible director. Even his good movies aren't that good.

I loved Last House on the Left. As previously described, it was sadistic, maniacal, and well thought out. I really have no desire to see it remade, as it will become some godawful, watered down piece of tripe.

Heh, what's next? Why do I see I Spit on Your Grave starring Reese Witherspoon or something? lol

Ms. 45 was remade, I believe, so it's not that absurd. I think the death knell for Hollywood decency was sounded when they taught us that even Shaft isn't safe. Who's the cat who won't cop out when there's danger all about? I don't know, but he isn't a development executive, cause they're cowards.

i think this may be a miscalculated move..

grindhouse style violence is definately coming back - to a point - but i dont know how a graphic rape - kill - revenge film is going to fly this day and age.

there will be a small select audience - but i dont think the major studios can survive making films that way - which is why they play it so safe all the time.
