I've been reading this thread and I think it is a good catharsis thread so we can let all those little hurts out and let them have their scream and then folks'll feel better and then all is good. Maybe Zero will come in and bless us and give us baskets of monkey fruits for our troubles, do a little deus ex machina thingie.

You should never hate old people, especially if they are a part of your own family. They have gone through tough times to bring us (or our Dads and Moms) up, and now when they grow old and frail, and their body is slowly weakening and shrivelling up, they need someone's support to lean on.
I have seen my maternal grandfather shut himself out of the world once he retired from public service, and keep to himself till his death 10 years back. He was given a bed near the bathroom by my maternal uncle who did not want to take care of him, but was ready to grab his retirement pension money. The guy who saved enough to marry off 5 daughters and secure the future of his 2 sons, spent the rest of his days inhaling fumes from his younger son's bathroom, and staying quiet. He ate whatever was given to him, prayed, and slept. And when he died, there wasnt much fuss either.
Just remember, old people were actually us once. Those guys were young and full of life too, like us. Someday we will grow old also, and when our body starts behaving erratically, and the problems dont solve themselves, we also grow a habit of being irritated at the smallest of things. Our children and grandchildren will be annoyed with us then. "Future is a mirror of thy's present", so even if they are irritating, annoying, pestering etc. etc., they deserve our attention and our love. You give it, so you will get it.

That's very profound, Kane.

Perhaps you can explain why you went to work playing Jason Voorhees, as it was obviously not your true calling.

I am obviously not the original Kane Hodder, crabapple.:o I am just a fan of the person who breathed life into so many horror movie characters.:)

I was only kidding of course.

That was actually very profound what you wrote, though.

Truth isn't just one thing...it's many different perspectives intersecting.

Each individual person may shift through a whole spectrum of different perspectives over time, without even being aware of it.

That is very true. I might add to that by saying that each person sees the truth which they choose to see, not otherwise, nor the complete truth.

I'd like her if she wasn't a mooching twit. She blames me for everything that she doesn't WANT to take the rap for, but, i'm done talking down on her for the night.

You'll be okay. A good night's rest and some pleasant dreams will do wonders for you.

That is good of you, Posher, to put up with her. I know for a fact that most old people can be very annoying and can get on your nerves, but patience is a virtue with them. Just remember, show your affection for her and she is bound to change her attitude towards you too. Have a good rest tonight like crabapple said, and you will feel much better by morning.:)

yeah i totally agree.
I on the other hand adore old ppl..but thats because I don't have to live with them anymore.
My grandfather stayed with us for awhile..''
when we were alone he was a sprite old bastard..forever chatty and doing things for himself.
When family members visited..out came the aches and pains..the ailments..the walking stick..the complaints.
So one day..i told him ..ok you old fart..you wanna play it like that..i want you to memorise this number..0800 oldfolkshome'.(to my mums disgust)
He soon snapped out of it. :o
