As someone who suffered a couple of bad long-D relationships, but turned the most recent one into a great marriage (almost 10 years and 2 cool kids) please take this little bit of advice.

Sure you get a grieving time - this is traumatic - but the worst thing you can do is pine for what once was. If you want to go back to how it was before, you'll never move forward.

Accept the situation for what it is (after a certain period of adjustment) and allow the relationship to evolve into whatever it has to be to survive. But keep the presseure off yourself and her to re-capture the fleeting sensation of falling in love with her.

Being in love and growing in love will never feel quite like falling in love, so don't expect it too.

Sorry if that came out preachy, I just feel for you and have too much experience in this realm.

Thanks man, and I will take your advice. And what you say is true. Memories are memories and will never be anything more. You can't relive the past, and you can't erase the ones you don't like.

I'm doing my best to be happy and laugh and smile, but all the while, deep down, it's still that lingering energy that makes me sad.

look at it this way. You will know that you have someone out there, thinking of you, loving you, waiting there for you. Thats soo much better than having nobody at all. Trust me. I havent had somebody since my last pity date. It always turns out well in the end. If you think positive, life will be positive. Oh and yes, that is me.:p

I'm also very deranged and like getting high on chocolate and sugar paper. The teddy bear head is called Cochita Cochada. He is a god i discovered and with him i founded the religion Cochudaism. I currently have 53 followers and we basically worship horror movies, rock music, long hair and beer.
