Spoorloos aka The Vanishing (1988)
![]() One of the most anticipated movies for me that I was looking for years. An excellent psychological thriller indeed. Absolutely loved it for its brilliant camera work, characterization and the gripping performance of the cast. >>: A- The Vanishing (1993) The surprising part is this stupid remake made by the same director of the original!?!:eek: >>: D Cell 211 (2009) ![]() Wow! A surprisingly very entertaining prison revolt action packed drama that has the capacity to keep you at the edge of your seat. The story of this 8 Goya Award winning (Spanish Oscars!) film follows a newly hired prison officer finds himself in the midst of a prison riot after an unforeseen turn of events. With the inmates around him unaware of his position, he must pretend to be a prisoner to survive. As from the beginning with mounting amount of tension the story evolves in unexpected ways, changing our perceptions of characters and the situation again and again. This film has it all, intelligence, action, drama, suspense, sadness and even a dash of comedy through all the madness. Kudos to the director & the entire cast for their spectacular performance that mostly contributed to made it so intense & engaging till the end. Highly Recommended. >>: A-

Circulation (2008). This visionary flick will likely see more scorn than accolades, but such is the way of the experimental writer/director. As a movie proper I suppose a case can be made against it, but this is far from standard fare. Instead it is a unique vision of philosophical proportions applied to one of the greatest questions ever posed by man. The result is a unique if not chunky vision of the feral capacity of humankind. The acting was solid enough, with the frustration of differing cultures and languages portrayed with interesting results. The direction was fresh; this guy might just be the next unflinching auteur if he sticks to his guns and does not fall prey to the tired parameters of acceptable movie making fare. The camera work added as much to the vision as did the story itself, a wandering, tireless journey on the reel of existence. The ending was unexpected and gave chase to more contemplation, just as this movie set out to accomplish. Merci beaucoup.

"What we got here.....is failure......to communicate." great movie The Nightmare on Elm Street [ 2010] what a waste of time...if you're gonna remake a movie, at least try to add a little something new to it....sure, Haley was fine as Freddy...but what was the point? |
|
||||
The Strange Vice Of Mrs. Wardh
The point was to make some money out of a terribly nightmarish addition to the franchise. Harley actually has some kind of potential to be a new Freddy which they didn't get it at all. Oh lord...for the stupid point of real burn victim make up they even couldn't able to give Freddy a face here! How pathetic!
