Yeh I wasn't impressed at all with Johnny Mnemonic when it first came out but I watched it recently and enjoyed it but you're right about something missing... still I like it more than The Matrix.

Is that book an adaption or something. I thought the film was based on a William Gibson short story? Gibson's stuff is worth checking out if you haven't already. I get a bit lost with all the geek tech shit but still enjoyed the books of his I've read.

Hahaha!
Yeah, the book came after the movie, but still a fun ride.

Not bad at all, a psycho thriller set in the middle of no where. It didn't blow me away, but has a good second half though the ending is a bit of an anti climax.

6.5/10

Europa (1991). Europa, known as Zentropa in the states, is one of Lars more experimental works and holds a cult-like status. The many different blatant effects are almost a distraction, but the story itself becomes a surreal nightmare that has transcended into the real world and thus such a distraction becomes a boon. The viewer is simultaneous assaulted by the variety of filming tricks as the blending of reality and horrible dream comes to a head. Where Lars later films are highly manipulative, this one does not tug at the heart with the usual meat hooks, but instead is more of an artistic allegory of post-war devastation gone Tim Burton/Jodorowsky. That said, this is definitely a must for fans of the "best working director today."

Bitch Slap: At first the plotline seems pretty weak, but then you realize it's no worse off than your typical James Bond Film. But plot? Who cares about a plot in a movie like this? It's all about the rather buxom, scantily-clad women and Bitch Slap definitely delivers in those regards. There's also a fair bit of blood and violence to balance things out. It's completely over the top, blatantly sex-charged, and pretty damn fun actually.

Talking 4 more

I think I won a jackpot 4 good ones

The Secret in their Eyes-Fantastic oscar-winner. A complex mix of mystery, murder and regret. Its not horror, but its worth your while. The cinematography is phenomenal. A

The next three are from the Fangoria Frightfest
Hunger-of course theres cannibalism b-
Dark House-a lot of fun, very dumb story, plus a fair amount of blood(this is a lot fun)B
The Haunting-not the classic, but a really good film from Spain. This is one of the best haunted house movies Ive seen in a long time. Its a mix of ghosts, mental illness, religion. Not a lot of blood, but its a chiller B+
