The Human Centipede-overrated
Guinea Pig; Devils Experiment- one of the few films that I have found extremely unsettling recently, so had the desired effect. Guinea Pig; The Android of Notre Dame-Absolutely dire. Watching Grotesque later.

-David Carradine Plot: IMDB After serving his county in the Civil War as a skilled sharpshooter, Will Drayton moved West in search of employment using his shooting skills. He ends up with the wrong type of people as a deadly assassin. Phantom's Review: Oh my God. what an awful film. Total amateur hour. Bad acting, bad action and a lame plot. The late David Carradine looks bored. Avoid at all cost.

Diary of the Dead (2007). Lots of different opinions on this one. While there were a great many scenes (goldfish, the Amish guy) there were also some pretty unrealistic ones. The characters themselves were mostly too stupid to have lived as long as they did. The concept itself was pretty great. What probably killed it was too much attention paid to propagating its overall message instead of just making a great movie and letting its message shine through. Worth a watch to pay homage to Romero, and ya have a 50%chance of liking it. Late.

Nikutai no mon (Gate of Flesh) (1964)
An enthralling, brutal pulp-drama as well as a potent commentary on a particular time in history; a gang of prostitutes makes a ruthless existence among the steaming mess of crime and debasement that is WWII-devastated Tokyo. One of Suzuki's greatest works; a subversive pseudo-exploitation masterpiece, complete with his hyper-stylized flair. If you haven't seen this yet, absoluuuuutely do it.

The Last House on the Left (1972). This classic shocker from Wes Craven deserves all the notoriety that it has received. Though a bit abrupt, the documentary feel of this flick makes for a gritty and realistic experience. The down and nasty scenes are portrayed in a cold, mean, and believably humiliating fashion. The acting was pretty decent for what it was, with Hess and Lincoln putting forth tremendous performances. The first two acts of the story itself, loosely based on a Bergman classic, were pretty solid, though the third act was a little more than contrived. Overall, this one will definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth, but it's a bitterness that the horror fan is only too happy to shell out hard-earned bucks in order to savor. Ashe.
