What????? Come on! The 80's SUCKED when it came to music! I think you guys are all just basing your opinions on personal associations you have with those songs. If you looked at them objectively, you would realize that it was all pretty crappy music.
HOWEVA: I liked Blister in the Sun, too. That's one of those "gets stuck in my head" songs. And: Punk Rock Girl by the Dead Milkmen. I liked a lot of They Might Be Giants tunes, too. Particularly Istanbul, Particle Man, and Anna Ng. Thriller is good, too. Although I hate M.J.

I went to a website of 80s songs to see if my first comment that "80s music sucked" was valid. It pretty much is. Sure there was some good stuff, of course Bowie, and some ZZ Top, Pat Benatar,U2,Van Halen, even a few B 52s and a couple Men AT Work, but for the most part.....much suckage. I was never into "The Hair Bands" i.e. Warrant,Poison,Cinderalla,Scorpions,Motley Crue,Skid Row and many more. And there was a lot of "Disco" type music left over from the late 70s. [hated disco with a passion ].

I was into Depeche Mode, the Cure, Beastie Boys (though at the time my mam wouldn't let me buy their album...I had to listen...contraband) Ziggy Marley, and Bananarama.
However my favorite song was the Bangles' version of "Hazy Shade of Winter." Forgot one... Siouxie and the Banshees.
