I remember him from Cannon. Very commanding persona, and great acting range. Not that I watched Cannon more than once. My grandparents watched it.

Do you think it would more or less likely to see an actor like William Conrad (heavy, no chisled good looks) get the sole leading role in a serious TV series today, as opposed to late 70s?

You had Frantz as part of a leading duo in NYPD Blues through the 90s, but that's a bit different than the sole role of Cannon. I think Cannon was the last. But with the explosion of smaller cable shows, is it more or less likely?

I really liked Robert Conrad. Have all four seasons of his Wild Wild West.

Liked William Conrad too. Seen him in a lot of earlier movies where he was chunky and heavyset.

Liked him on Cannon too. But he always looked like he was ready to pop. He was just way too fat. Surprised he lived as long as he did.

Pete Seeger dead at 94. RIP.

This one hits me hard on a personal level, just as the deaths of Forrest Ackerman, Ray Bradbury and Kurt Vonnegut did. Not just someone who I thought was a great artist, but someone who had a great effect on my life, who I looked up to as a great human being. I'm sad tonight.

To Seeger, singing wasn't just something he could make money at, but a tool to be used to make the world a better place. This cost him a great deal personally, as he fond himself blacklisted from TV snd radio for having been a member of the Communist Party at one point. He never apologized for his beliefs, or his life, and was convicted of Contempt of Congress for telling the House Un-American Activities Committee this:

I feel that in my whole life I have never done anything of any conspiratorial nature.” He also stated: “I am not going to answer any questions as to my association, my philosophical or religious beliefs or my political beliefs, or how I voted in any election, or any of these private affairs. I think these are very improper questions for any American to be asked, especially under such compulsion as this.

He founded several programs and foundations, gave away a lot of his own money, and was still winning Grammys as recently as 2011. He never gave up. Mr. Seeger, you were a great inspiration to me. And now you're gone.

I was shocked, too. Never knew he was an addict. Going to miss his work, always thought he was very talented.
