1. Ninja: Shadow of a Tear (Hands down)
2. Captain Phillips "The way way back", "We're the millers, "Identity Thief" and "Blue is the Warmest Color" were good as well. I've probably forgotten a whole lot of good movies..

Forgot to mention Upstream Color. Really loved that one.
Also worth mentioning is It's A Disaster and Drinking Buddies. Great little movies. Last edited by ChronoGrl; 01-03-2014 at 04:19 AM. |

I found it just absolutely captivating... So bizarre, lonely, and melancholic - It left me baffled at the end, but it stirred enough in me that I read a few analyses of it online that filled in the gaps for me. It struck me and connected with me and I appreciate it as a truly fascinating and moving film.
Have you seen it? |

-Pain & Gain
I laughed my ass off with this one. -Elysium Solid action flick. Shows you can have cool special effects and a good story. -Clear History Kinda like a Curb Your Enthousiasm movie. Quote:
From what I saw it wasn't that explicit. They talk about the acts in detail but I don't think they showed anything. Could be wrong. Dozed off towards the end. |

Yeah, I think the fact that it's a Documentary is what would truly disturb me. The idea that these people would revel in the Act of Killing (as it were) and consider themselves heroes and movie stars - That truly disturbs me. Don't think I could watch it.

Watch it watch it watch it. Without hyperbole, it might be the most important new film to come out in my lifetime. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

Gravity
The opening shot alone was breathtaking. After about 20 minutes without an obvious edit I was beginning to feel out of breath. Perhaps this films only fault was it was so jaw droppingly stunning that I was always aware I was watching a very complex creation. They worked so hard to make me believe it that I couldn't suspend my disbelief. Still loved it to bits. Kill Your Darlings What's that? Yes, yes I did indeed go to the London premiere and speak to Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan. Indeed, I DID get to walk up the red carpet. How nice of you to remember This will always be the cinematic highlight of the year for me. Struck By Lightning Perhaps I'm blinded by my secret crush on Chris Colfer, but I loved his ability to wrap some pretty damn heavy themes in a silly little High School pic. Though the characters are perhaps too sarcastic to be likeable, there was a lovely mix of honest humour and melacholy.
