I never said I hate the Exorcist, I just do not think it is as scary as people say it is. Oh, and I do not hate Halloween either, I just got bored after number 3. Oh and my favorite horror movies (just incase you wanna know ;) ) are It, The Shining, Nightmare of Elm Street, Dusk Till Dawn, Hellraiser, Wishmaster, The Exorcist, The Living Dead Series, Blade 1 & 2, John Carpenter's Vampire(not the "Los Muertos" one, what a horribly bad movie), and some more that I cannot think of right now. :)

yeah, Psycho's not a slasher.

As for Jason being a Michael Myers wannabe, who gives a flying fuck?

SFF most people say TCM was the main start of the slasher genre which it was, its just that Halloween has so many film that are based off and inspired from such Friday the 13th was inspired by Halloween but its not a copy.
I dont agree with 9/10ths of the shit that comes out of critics mouths, bu6t I have heard many of the "Great" horror directors from the 80's give "Twitch of the Death Nerve" By Mario Bava (? or Brava... something like that, im not sure) credit for Really starting the slasher film genre or as some filmakers call them, Body Count movies

TCM is NOT a slasher movie. It's a cannibal movie!!!
Think about the term "slasher" for a moment, what comes to mind? Well, for me, it would be the vision of a killer with a KNIFE for SLASHING. LOL Chainsaws don't slash, they shred and rip. Oh, and Leatherface did not aimlessly butcher people. His victims were DINNER, plain and simple.

Anyhow, I give credit to Halloween for truly starting the sub-genre.

Yes.

EDIT- Any movie that has a main character that dies at the end of every one is stupid. Let's make 10 movies about Jason, Myers, Freddy, Wishmaster, Child's Play, etc etc, AND RESURRECT THEM EVERY TIME OMG.

There's only been a few good sequels. T2 & T3, Ace Ventura 2, and Grumpier Old Men, to name a few of them.

There is a big diffirence between Jason and Myers, Jason has a motive and more than one great film.

TCM is more closely related to the revenge horror genre than the slasher genre. The only difference is that the chick escaped and went nutty instead of castrating someone
