I find it very intriguing that the built-on-a-cemetery conceit is no longer a third-act revelation. It would seem they have found something else to up the ante in the climax. Twist ending?

I don't know the trailer looks like it draws a ton of original plot elements. A huge smile crossed my face when you see the outside of the house and that huge tree outside of the house. Im just curious if they can recreate the face peeling scene with an PG-13 rating.

Something's up with the father character. And with Sam Rockwell saying it's a kid's movie, that the focus is on the kids, etc...a clear misdirection of the audience, there.

Eh, some could argue the focus was technically always on the kids. The parents play a main role, probably the main role, but the kids were always the center of the story line.

Regardless, all else aside. Sam Raimi.

Fuck that! After I saw the original I didn't climb a tree for years. There are few things that still get me, but things that you don't expect to move is one of them. Everyone expects a randomly placed statue to move, but no body ever anticipates a tree to grab you.

Thinking about it, that is legit, real horror. In that world anything you walk by could be out to get you. That is really scary.

jut watched trailer, I hate to say this because anytime I get stoked about a horror movie it's a huge let down but it looks pretty damn good-and Raimi being on board is always a plus. Saw that fucking clown ..... damn it

Lol! The clown is well portrayed from what you can see. They have also teased that huge light creature that comes out of the closet. In the trailer you also see a real quick shot of the rope thrown into the closet. It seems like they held pretty tight to the original.

I really dig the way you put that "there are fe things that still get me but the things you don't expect to move is one of them" :)

Yes, looks like they stuck to the original-and I was a hater going in thinking REALLY CAROL ANN TRADE MARK WAS HER BLONDE HAIR but I'm sold and yeah, dad is shady for sure

This poltergeist apparently uses power tools. Either that or we're looking at an Amityville-like possession situation.

The new clown doll is a step up from the orig. The pool scene has an overhead shot, which should look great in the theater.
