Well now that I am a single gal, people just don't get to me anymore.
I smile and say hello alot more and if they give me attitude-I just think how awful their life is that they cannot even return a smile for crips sake...poor miserable bastards:(

And I totally got in touch with my inner road rage, it happenend after I watched my 2 year crash his toy cars and called them all dumbasses and morons.

Pink: think of it this way- those slow fuckers that are keeping you held up might be saving you from an accident waiting for you further up the road.

But people that drive under the speed limit in the fast lane just need to die, if your that fucking stupid you need to get off the planet-no question about it.

In the grocery cashier line, I had a woman bump her grocery cart up so it hit my Achilles tendon, hard. Ya know, the tendon at the back of your leg that attaches to your heel. (Ouch!!) I turned around and looked at her. She had this rather indignant look on her face. The person in front of me wasn't moving, so it's not like I could move ahead. So I glared at her, and hip-checked her cart right back at her. She didn't "nudge" me again.

I hate rude people.

Edit: Let me clarify one thing... if when I turned around and looked at her, she would have looked like it was a mistake or apologized, I would have smiled and said "no problem". But that was not the case.

You know who I hate more than some people?

Myself, for putting up with them.

There are seniors above me who work in the same office/company I work with, and some of them are absolute, total assholes. But to get my own work done through/with them, it becomes important to endure their presences in everyday office life. Not only that, but to sit in front of them and listen to them brag, boast and act all "superior than the entire human race." Absolutely hate that kind of attitude, but got to just sit back with a false smile and listen to all that bullshit.

Enduring an asshole who is a superior, and enduring an asshole who is a senior, are totally different experiences. The superior is someone who will never change his attitude, but at least he's temporary. In 2-3 years time, he's liable to get transferred to another Branch.
But, the senior shares the same position as you, but has a lead of 18-20 years in experience, and WONT be moving out of the office till he retires. Yes, he gets a lot of your pending work done through a simple phonecall, but he can be a total dick the rest of the time. Even to you.

And you cannot risk calling them off over anything, because they got their hooks into everything. Some others before me found that out the hard way. Its tough, its unbearable, but it comes with the job.

Many days I return home and think back over the day spent, and moments come flooding back which are either really frustrating, or really exasperating...

Let me tell you, its easier to hate yourself than hate the world.

Self centred, unobservant, and inconsiderate sums up the majority of humans I've ever encountered, to different levels.
Even my friends share some of these traits, though fewer, the more of those traits, the less likely the association.

OMG. I was in a position sooooooooo similar to what you just described. I was literally throwing up so many days before going to work that I was starting to come in late cuz I had to settle my stomach before I could even drive into work. I was a contractor, so I got out of it the easy way. After extending my contract several times, they couldn't the last time.

Please do NOT hate yourself! Do the best you can, but don't lose your integrity. Put up with what you can to keep your job, but leave it there when you go home. You still are the same good person that you are, no matter what games you have to play at work. Don't lose site of who you really are.

Do you have to be on call after work?

Yep, even on weekends and till midnight at the end of the months. 31st March is the craziest...gotta stay at the office till 2-3, sometimes 4 AM even.

Thats why they pay me a fortune. Its basically a 14-16/7/365 job.

At my last full-time (non-contractor) job, I was there for 12 years. For 1 1/2 years I was on-call 24/7/365. I rarely got more that a few hours of sleep a night. I had to have a hysterectomy and was out for 6 weeks, as soon as I got back, everything, including on-call, got dumped back on to me. I had a series of medical complications and set-backs (my docs told me cuz I was trying to do too much too soon). And then a few months later my mom got pancreatic cancer and died, so I took some more time off then. SO, the great minds at work finally gave me some people to train in to take the load off of me and then I got laid off a couple months later.

It ain't worth it. Companies will throw you out like yesterday's trash. Do what you gotta do to keep your job, but take care of yourself. There is only one of you to your family and friends. You don't mean shit to the "company" in the long run.

Oh, I forgot another wonderful thing about that job I last described. When they laid my off, of course all my work got dumped on other people. One of my co-workers who was one to "keep it all inside and not complain too much" was found dead in his apartment six months after I got laid off. He was supposed to go on vacation for a week, so no one found him for a week and a half. His family didn't request an autopsy so no one knows exactly why he died, but I know what I suspect. TOO MUCH STRESS.

That place turned out to be crazy to work at. Wasn't like that in the beginning. But I'm afraid more places are becoming like that. Scary.

I hate 95% of people. The other 5% are awesome.
